World Climate Game - An Educational Tool for Solving the Climate Crisis
Summer Campus - KPH Vienna/Lower Austria

The climate crisis has noticeably arrived in Austria. It is complex, multifaceted, and threatening. Young people, in particular, suffer from anxiety about the future and feelings of powerlessness due to this crisis. How can we support young people in facing this challenge with hope and determination?

The World Climate Game is an evidence-based climate and economic simulation in which participants experience the interactions and connections of the global climate crisis. They take on the roles of decision-makers from politics, business, and civil society, develop effective solutions, and practice cooperation, negotiation skills, and empathy to collaboratively shape a sustainable world.

This seminar offers participants the chance to experience this innovative tool for climate and environmental education firsthand. Following the practical gameplay experiences, participants will reflect on the didactic and methodological potentials of "game-based learning" and deepen their understanding of climate knowledge and global sustainability. In the winter semester of 2025, interested participants will have the opportunity to further their training as facilitators at KPH Vienna/Lower Austria.

Take the chance to enhance your pedagogical skills and gain new impulses for your teaching!
We look forward to your participation and an engaging exchange!
