"Meet the Experts" Event in Kronberg
On November 29, 2024, we had the opportunity to present the World Climate Game at the first "Meet the Experts" event in Kronberg. The event provided a valuable platform for exchanging ideas on innovative education and health projects. In addition to the World Climate Game, we also showcased the project "Gemeinsam stark werden," which promotes life skills in children. Additionally, engaging lectures on creativity and mental health contributed to a enriching dialogue about psychosocial education.

The World Climate Game at the KISS THE GLOBE event at Globe Vienna
On November 24, 2024, the event "Kiss the Globe" took place at Globe Wien, featuring our innovative World Climate Game presented in a playful dialogue with comedian Werner Brix. Thomas Weber, the project leader of the World Climate Game, introduced the concept of the game in the LATE AFTERNOON SHOW at 4:40 PM, in collaboration with FUTURE WORKs.

Environmental Education Meets Playful Approach: The World Climate Game Introduced in Germany, Featured in Süddeutsche Zeitung!
The World Climate Game has been successfully introduced in Germany as part of an innovative environmental education initiative. In collaboration with the Center for Climate Resilience at the University of Augsburg, participants engaged with various aspects of climate change over three days, from September 12 to September 14, 2024, in a playful and interactive manner.

17.12.-19.12.2024 I Göttingen I Society for Economic Development and Urban Planning Göttingen
From December 17 to December 19, 2024, Göttingen will host the World Climate Game for the first time! The workshop is organized by the Society for Economic Development and Urban Planning (GWG Gesellschaft für Wirtschaftsförderung und Stadtentwicklung Göttingen) and provides an excellent platform to engage with pressing climate issues. Participants will have the opportunity to explore the complex interconnections of climate policy and experience the impacts of different strategies firsthand.
Youth Only Have a Short Time Left to Save the World - World Climate Game in Walsrode
From November 4th to November 6th, our World Climate Game took place at the student café of Felix-Nussbaum-Schule in Walsrode, where young people had the opportunity to actively engage with the challenges of climate change. The South Tyrolean organization OEW - A Solidarity World is organizing a game for the first time in the Autonomous Province of Bolzano. Participants from South Tyrol will have the opportunity to experience the challenges and opportunities associated with combating climate change in a playful manner, while also learning how individual and collective decisions can influence the climate.

From October 11 to 13, 2024, the scientific conference "FROG – Future and Reality of Gaming" will take place at the Vienna City Hall. Experts from various disciplines will come together to address questions of game research and development, highlighting the significance of gaming for society. Matthias Mittelberger, the game developer of the World Climate Game, will explain how we can save the world through this game, live on-site at 10:30 AM.

Under the motto "Empowering Tomorrow - Skills for Change," the Youth Climate Conference (LCOY) will be held at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in October. Organized by CliMates Austria, participants can look forward to connecting with hundreds of young people from across Austria, along with a weekend full of exciting panel discussions, workshops, conversations with policymakers, and engaging inputs. 12.09.2024 I TU Wien I EDUSCAPE: Learning through, in and with landscape. Seminar for Educators
The European research project EduScape uses landscape to address current societal, ecological and cultural challenges driven by climate change. With the help of the landscapes around the school, knowledge about climate change is imparted. The project results will be presented at the concluding conference at TU Wien. The World Climate Game team will also be on site and available to answer questions about the game!

In May, Graz hosted exciting game days organized by the association Beteiligung.st. The World Climate Game, conducted by the 4k class of the Practical Secondary School of the PH Steiermark, provided an opportunity to learn about climate change in a playful manner and collaboratively develop solutions. In teams, participants tackled various challenges related to climate protection and generated creative ideas on how to reduce our ecological footprint.

As part of the project "Klimasoziales Linz," the 7A class at BRG Hamerling will participate in the World Climate Game. Through this playful approach, complex aspects of globalization will be made understandable and tangible. Students will not only deepen their knowledge about climate change but also develop essential skills such as teamwork, decision-making, and problem-solving.
March 5, 2024 in Vienna – Keynote by Matthias Mittelberger at the "Stakeholder Lab: Alliance for Transformative Education"
On March 5, the Ministry of Climate Protection hosted an event at the Natural History Museum in Vienna. Experts from media, culture, science, and civil society gathered to discuss lifelong learning and the challenges related to educational formats for sustainable development. Among the speakers was our World Climate Game Master Mind, Matthias Mittelberger, who delivered a keynote address on the significance of transformative education in a rapidly changing world.

The Platform for Sustainable Development (SDGs) at the University of Continuing Education Krems hosted a gathering of significant segments of Austrian civil society. The goal of the conference was to provide impetus for the systemic transformation of society and the economy towards climate and biodiversity protection, as well as social justice. The event brought together 120 delegates from various organizations and social movements across different sectors of society.

Together with the Energy Institute Vorarlberg, Raiffeisen is hosting the four-day World Climate Game, which is already in full swing. Employees of Raiffeisen banks in Vorarlberg and students from the BRG & BORG Dornbirn Schoren are experiencing, in a playful way, how the challenges of climate change are embedded in complex relationships and interdependencies.

In the penultimate week of February, the World Climate Game was played twice! Once at the Lienz HAK 1A and then in Vienna at the GRG XII Erlgasse!
